FOR NON-PROFITS

Funding cuts across the board have impacted nonprofits tremendously.  You have to work harder with fewer resources than ever before.  This means less staff to do more work in order to fullfill your mission and meet your organizational goals.  Systems need to be streamlined to make things work better.  FAMA can review your operational systems and make recommendations to help you be more efficient.  We can draft or edit any document you may need while your staff members concentrate on your program.  Please read some of our organizational resources below.

FOR BUSINESSES

Communication is essential in any successful operation.  Small businesses need to reach a greater client base to increase their profits.  It makes sense to target the Spanish-speaking market where the Latino buying power is growing at a high speed.  The state of the economy dictates that 'time is money' more than ever before.  We can help entrepreneurs who wish to open a small businesses write or edit a business plan so they have a plan for success.  We can also develop and translate all your marketing tools into Spanish.

            The American with Disabilities Act

The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) was created in 1990 to ensure that state and local governments be accessible to people with disabilities. The ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities.  The law applies to all state and local governments, including those that receive no federal financial assistance.  It also  applies to private businesses that meet the ADA’s definition of “public accommodation” (restaurants, hotels, movie theaters, and doctors’ offices are just a few examples), commercial facilities (such as office buildings, factories, and warehouses), and many private employers.  In 2010, new regulations were enacted.  Click here to access the ADA home pageFor the ADA Best Practices Tool Kit, click here

In 2010, The Chicago Community Trust published Renewing the Commitment: An ADA Compliance Guide For Nonprofits.  This handbook is designed to assist nonprofits and others in understanding the principles of the ADA and developing their own plans for compliance.  This tool will help nonprofits throughout Chicago - and beyond - with the tools they need to serve everyone with equal opportunity and equal dignity.  FAMA Enterprises, LLC shares the CCT mission of improving the quality of life for individuals.  We appreciate the opportunity to share this document and thank The Chicago Community Trust for such a wonderful resource that will benefit many organizations and individuals alike.
